A native of Brooklyn, New York, Rosie Perez made her film debut in Spike Lee's controversial Do the Right Thing. Her other fim credits include Rising in cars with Boys, Perdita Durango, and Fearless for which she was nominated for a academy Award. Perez debuted on Broadway in Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. Her other Broadway credits include, The Ritz and Reckless. Perez is a noted community activist and recently moderated a discussion on gentrification at WNYC's Jerome L. Greene performance space.
