Bio:
Janet McTeer won the Tony Award for Best Actress for her Broadway debut in A Doll's House. She is currently in Mary Stuart. Both productions originated in her native England. Other major theater credits include the West End premiere of God of Carnage with Ralph Fiennes, The Duchess of Malfi and Uncle Vanya at London's National Theatre, and A Midsummer Night's Dream, Worlds Apart, The Storm, and As You Like It at the Royal Shakespeare Company. She was nominated for an Oscar for Tumbleweeds. Her other films are Wuthering Heights, Carrington, Waking the Dead, Songcatcher, The King Is Alive, The Intended, and Terry Gilliam's Tideland. Her TV series in Britain include The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard and Five Days. In the summer of 2008, Queen Elizabeth appointed McTeer an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
