South African native Brian Murray has been an ubiquitous presence in New York theater for nearly 45 years. His major Broadway productions include Mary Stuart, The Rivals, The Crucible (Tony nomination), The Little Foxes (Tony nomination), Twelfth Night, and the original companies of Racing Demon, Noises Off, Da, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Tony nomination). Broadway directing credits include The Show Off with Pat Carroll, The Circle with Rex Harrison, Blithe Spirit with Geraldine Page, and Hay Fever with Rosemary Harris. He has appeared in the Off-Broadway shows Beckett/Albee, The Play About the Baby, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, Travels with My Aunt, and, with Kevin Kline, Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet. as an actor, his films include My Dog Tulip, City Hall, Bob Roberts, and, with Richard Attenborough, The League of Gentlemen and The Angry Silence.
