Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Barbara Cook is a Tony Award winning actress and made her Broadway debut in Flahooley. Her Broadway credits include Carousel, Candide, She Loves Me, and the original Broadway production of The Music Man for which she won her Tony Award, originating the role of Marian Paroo. Cook is also the winner of a Grammy and Drama Desk Award. She performs frequent concerts around the world with such world class Orchestras like the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic in London with whom she celebrated her 80th birthday at Royal Albert Hall. Cook's "Spotlight Series" at the Kennedy Center showcases some of the best Musical theatre talent in America. She is an inductee into the Broadway Hall of Fame.
