Alice Ripley is the winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her role in Next to Normal. She was previously nominated in 1998 for Side Show. Other Broadway credits include The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce's The Dead, Sunset Boulevard, The Who's Tommy, and Les Misérables. She also played Bathsheba in the concert production of King David that inaugurated the newly renovated New Amsterdam Theater in 1997. Ripley has been nominated three times for a Helen Hayes Award--for Shakespeare in Hollywood and for the Kennedy Center's revivals of Tell Me on a Sunday and Company. She is also a singer/songwriter with a number of CDs to her credit.
