Co-Founder and Artistic Director of The Cape Cod Theatre Project Andrew Polk will resign after the conclusion of the theater's 2011 season.

Polk, who was Artistic Director of the company for 16 years, founded the Cape Cod Theatre Project along with Jim Bracchitta and members of the Off-Broadway company Circle Rep in 1995 to be an incubator for new American plays. Under Polk's leadership, The Cape Cod Theatre Project has developed 58 plays, 38 of which have gone on to Broadway, Off-Broadway, the country's finest regional theaters, and around the world.

During his time at Cape Cod Theatre Project, Polk has nurtured the works of Neil LaBute, Paula Vogel, Lanford Wilson, Adam Rapp, and Nilo Cruz, among many others and has united top actors and directors, including Bill Pullman, Anna Paquin, Amy Ryan, J.C. Mackenzie, Frank Wood, Rip Torn, and Lois Smith.
