Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival Announces Line-Up

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival, which will feature a dozen events associated with the late playwright, will run September 25-28.

Highlights of the festival will include a discussion with Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis, who has starred in many of Williams’ plays; The Actors Company Theatre’s acclaimed production of Eccentricities of a Nightingale; a concert version of Love Songs from Summer and Smoke, with music by Lee Hoiby and a libretto by Lanford Wilson, and David Kaplan’s production of The Dog Enchanted the View, an early version of The Rose Tattoo, starring Larry Coen and Nancy Cassaro.

Other events include Portugal’s Teatro do Bolhao’s production of The Night of the Iguana; a pair of Williams’ one-acts, Green Eyes and Adam and Eve on a Ferry starring Jaimi Page and Robertson Dean; Brooklyn on Foot’s five-actor production of Camino Real; Gregg Barrios’ new play Rancho Pancho, about Williams’ relationship with Pancho Rodriguez; and DanceLoop Chicago’s premiere of Lorita!, adapted from Williams’ short story “Happy August 10th.”
