The deadly Zastrozzi, "master criminal of all Europe," seeks to avenge himself on Verezzi, an artist and self-proclaimed visionary. Aided by his henchman Bernardo and the arch-seductress Matilda, Zastrozzi weaves his web around his prey, only to encounter unexpected resistance from Verezzi's tutor, Victor.
