Laguna Playhouse has announced their 2013-2014 season, which will kick off with Davis Gaines (The Phantom of the Opera) and Vicki Lewis (Damn Yankees) starring in the musical I Do! I Do! from July 9-August 11. Next up, running October 8-November 3, will be a production of Noël Coward's Fallen Angels, which just concluded an acclaimed run at the Pasadena Playhouse.
The season's holiday show is still to be announced, but it will be followed by Ring of Fire, a musical featuring the songs of country music icon Johnny Cash, playing January 7-Feburary 2. The premiere of All the Great Books, a show condensing much of our great literature into only 90 minutes, will follow from March 4-30.
Closing the season with an April 29-May 25 run will be Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, starring Linda Purl (Matlock). In addition, there will be bonus offerings of new shows by musician Hershey Felder and comedian Rita Rudner as well as a look at the Beatles with Britishmania.
Laguna Playhouse was founded in 1920 and is one of the oldest continuously operating theatres on the West Coast. In 2011, The Laguna Playhouse was honored at the Laguna Spirit Awards. The Playhouse has produced national tours of The Belle of Amherst and Copenhagen and has presented many world, national, and regional premieres.
