About This Venue

Begun in the 1880s, the Orpheum Theatre is one of the oldest sites of continuous entertainment in New York City. It began as the the Orpheum concert gardens, became one of the theaters on the Yiddish theater strip, and eventually ended up as an off-Broadway venue.
