About This Venue
Renamed the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in 2003, this Byzantine-styled theater was built by vaudeville impresario Martin Beck in order to house large musicals with huge casts. It housed the productions of Bye Bye Birdie and Sweet Bird of Youth. The best seats are located Rows A through C in the mezzanine and center orchestra, Rows E through L. The Al Hirschfeld Theatre has a seating capacity of 1,292 for plays and 1,282 for musicals.
