WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Susan Stroman directs and choreographs this energetic and faithful revival of Meredith Willson's The Music Man. 2001 Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard (The Invention of Love) takes on the role of Harold Hill, who sings and dances his way into the lives of the innocent folk of sleepy River City, Iowa. Opposite Leonard is Rebecca Luker as Marian, the small town's stuffy librarian.

There is nothing groundbreaking about the new revival of Meredith Wilson's The Music Man. But there is very definitely something ground shaking about it. The floor beneath your feet at the Neil Simon Theatre veritably quakes from the foot-stomping euphoria of the audience during the show's extended curtain call.
Every decision The Music Man's director/choreographer Susan Stroman makes is in the service of that audience reaction. This is a show designed to please and delight, and no effort is spared in that endeavor.
