Front row seats at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and meet the whole cast brooke shields was so nice
Bought tickets at TKTS two hours before showtime, mezzanine row j center. The absolute worst seats I have ever had for a show. The man in front of me kept moving his head because he couldnt see because of the man in the row in front of him. For at least 3/4 of the show all we saw was his head. The Lunt-Fontaine theater is the ugliest theater I have ever been in. The play was entertaining and we would have enjoyed it otherwise. Not great, but good.
Fun show...first act was cute and funny. Second act was a bit weak...I was in awe of Brooke and Roger as they danced the tango. Uncle Festers romance with the moon had nice special effects. Brooke and cast signed autographs after the show and was sweet and kind to those of us that stayed. Thanks for a fun afternoon!
The first act was great...funny lines ..good music. Second act was a bit weak but I was so in awe of Brooke and Roger as they danced the tango! Uncle Fester falling in love with the moon was interesting good effects. Brooke signed autographs after the shows...she was kind and sweet! Thanks for a fun afternoon!
Weak story...nice effects...talented cast with mediocre material.
Saw this last week. It kept my attention. It was a fun show, not the best I have seen, but worth the money I paid.
Having come out of the sixties I grew up watching the television show, so I have to say I had nothing but positive predisposition to the story. With that said, I thought it was a lot of fun. Music and sets were what I would have expected.
OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST & FUNNIEST MUSICAL....NO REGERTS AT ALLL......
On of the worst shows Ive seen on Broadway. The storyline was awful. Lane and Neuwirth were ok, not great. The music was forgetable. Take a pass - theres a lot better out there.
The Addams Family is not to my taste, although the rest of the audience enjoyed the show much more than I did. However, I must say the cast does an exceptional job with disappointing material: Lane, Neuwirth and Chamberlin, obviously, but also Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Zachary James as Lurch, and the always brilliant Terrence Mann and Carolee Carmello as the visitors.
If you are not expecting a story and good music and lyrics, you will a fun time. Its comercial and for tourist. Period.
Nathan Lane & Bebe Neuwirth shine as they always do on Broadway! As a fan of the show, I had to admit I was a bit hesitant to see this but I have no regrets! On a side note, I took someone to see their 1st Broadway show & needless to say, Broadway has a new fan, thanks to Nathan Lane & Bebe Neuwirth!!
THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON BROADWAY!!!!! NATHAN LANE WAS HILARIOUS!!! BEBE NEUWIRTH WAS BORN TO PLAY MORTICIA! THE WHOLE CAST IS AMAZING! EVERY TIME JACKIE HOFFMAN SAYS A LINE YOU WILL LAUGH!!! SEE THE SHOW! DONT LISTEN TO THE CRITCIS!!!!
I was really looking forward to seeing this, but when my friends and I got there, we found out Nathan Lane was not in the performance that day!! Many people wanted their money back. I thought it would be better. The actor who stood in for Nathan Lane was good, Bebe Neuwirth was good, but i just did not care for the play.
This had the makings of a sensational show, but but to say it doesnt work is putting it mildly. The book is full of lame jokes, the music is woefully routine and the lyrics are mostly lacking in wit. Not even the best efforts of its two talented stars can make one overlook the sad fact that this is a joyless musical, put together without sparkle or wit, and what should have been a highlight of the season winds up as a well meaning botch.
Hearing that Nathan Lane was returning to Broadway I had my sites on this show from very early on. Treated my wife to the show during previews - I liked the show, thought Mr. Lane was great - Uncle Fester steals the show! Props to the actor playing Lurch as well. The staging was very imaginative & loved the use of puppets. The premise of the show could have used some more creativity & I felt that Bebe was not suited to the roll of Morticia. Although this was my first time seeing her live I felt she gave a good performance, but there seemed to be something missing. Maybe its my expectation of the previous Morticias that preceded her. Overall, I liked the show it was fun - for me I would go again but some may find it disappointing. Go with an open mind & have a good time.

just saw it last night - the first act was great but the second act was a bit slow and strained. The sets were great and how can you not go see Nathan & Bebe?
Just saw it and the entire audience was laughing out loud. Not sure why the ratings from others are low but we had a ball, A Ball and Chain!!! The pace was fast, jokes both hokey and up to date. I would gladly go again and so would my 24 year old son. Recommend dont listen and go yourself for a delightful show.
I really had high hopes for The Addams Family and was I dissapointed...I woulnt even recommend it to out of towners who deserve to see a better representation of a Broadway musical. I do feel sorry for all the talent involved, since they are trapped in such a dismal show,,,Noy scary, funny or kooky..just plain ooky !
I saw this last night as part of a benefit gala. The special effects are good. The cast is good but cant overcome the lack of a book and mediocre score. The Pugsley character is repellent. This show is purely for tourists who want glitz for their ticket dollar.
Super funny and quirky! Nathan Lane is a hoot and Bebe is a great Morticia. Have to say though that the girl who plays wednesday nearly steals the show. She was great! See it with this opening cast! They really make the show!
