WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Al Pacino, Marissa Tomei, and Dianne Wiest star in Salome: The Reading with original music by Yukio Tsuji. Oscar Wilde's powerful tale of lust and revenge folows the legend of King Herod and his passionate desire for the young Princess Salome, who longs for the love of the imprisoned John the Baptist. When he rejects her, Salome turns to her powers of seduction to manipulate the King and seek her revenge. Estelle Parsons directs.
This is a full-production staged reading presented in a limited engagement of 59 performances.
There are added performances on Monday, June 9 at 8:00pm and Wednesday, June 11 at 2:00pm.
$25.00 student rush tickets are available at the box office when it opens on the day of the performance. Limit is 1 per valid student I.D., subject to availability!

In Oscar Wilde's Woman of No Importance, the wicked Lord Illingworth remarks that "moderation is a fatal thing; nothing succeeds like excess." He is, of course, the moutpiece of Wilde, who -- to his eventual detriment -- insisted on saying and writing whatever he damn well pleased.
Wilde never pushed the vellum envelope further than he did with his play Salome, which he conjured during something akin to a fever dream in Paris one night in 1891.
