WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Dracula, the Musical, the first new musical of the 2004-2005 Broadway season, features book and lyrics by Don Black & Christopher Hampton, and music by Tony®-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn. The production is directed by two-time Tony® Award-winner Des McAnuff, and choreographed by Mindy Cooper.

The show is a new musical vision of romance, terror and temptation based on the Bram Stoker classic novel. Set in Europe at the end of the Victorian Age, the production follows Dracula's lust for new blood and a small band of mortal men and women who must face his overwhelming seduction and mesmeric supernatural powers.

Dracula, the Musical is so inept that it's difficult to resist the temptation to drag out expected puns about it. I'll give in only so far as to say that the offering of librettists-lyricists Don Black and Christopher Hampton, composer Frank Wildhorn, and director Des McAnuff looks as if it's had all the bl[...]
