Will Bryan Cranston Bring Damn Yankees Back to Broadway?

Has Tony and Emmy winner Bryan Cranston found his next Broadway project?
Cranston is apparently in discussions to star in a revival of the classic musical Damn Yankees, according to the website BroadwayJournal. Jeffrey Richards, who produced Cranston's Broadway acting debut project, All the Way, is said to be attached, with Kathleen Marshall slated to direct and choreograph.
When asked by TheaterMania, representatives from Richards' office had a firm "No comment" about the potential production and Cranston's involvement.
Inspired by the novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop, the musical features a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and a book by George Abbott and Wallop.
Cranston, who won a Tony Award for All the Way and several Emmys for his work on the series Breaking Bad, would play the character Applegate, the Devil, in the production. It would be his Broadway musical debut. Without going into specifics, he had previously revealed his next Broadway plans, "a reimagining of an old chestnut," on an episode of the podcast Ipso Facto With Robert Wuhl.
