The Band's Visit, which made its world premiere at the Atlantic Theater Company last year, will move to Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theater this fall. Performances will begin October 7 in advance of a November 9 opening.

Based on Eran Kolirin's film The Band's Visit, which won the Jury Coup de Couer prize at the Cannes Film Festival, the show tells the story of the Alexandria Ceremonial Police Band. When they arrive in Israel to play at the opening of a cultural center, their hosts don't show, and an error in communication sends them in the wrong direction. Soon, the band finds themselves in a small settlement in the heart of the Negev desert with no transportation out until morning and no hotel in sight.

David Cromer will reprise his direction of the musical, which features a book by Itamar Moses, an original score by David Yazbek, choreography by Patrick McCollum, and movement by Lee Sher. Andrea Grody will serve as music director.

The Atlantic cast was led by Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub, alongside George Abud (The Visit), Bill Army (Act One), Tony nominee John Cariani (Something Rotten!), Katrina Lenk (Indecent), Erik Liberman (War Paint), Andrew Polk (House of Cards), Rachel Prather (Once), Jonathan Raviv (The Ragged Claws), Sharone Sayegh (Mamma Mia!), Kristen Sieh (Men on Boats), Alok Tewari (Awake and Sing!), Ari'el Stachel (Blue Bloods), and Daniel David Stewart (Spring Awakening).

The Band’s Visit won two Lucille Lortel Awards, for Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical (Katrina Lenk); two Outer Critics Circle Awards, for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical and Outstanding Score (David Yazbek); the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical; two Obie Awards, for Musical Theater (David Yazbek & Itamar Moses), and Directing (David Cromer); Theatre World Award’s Dorothy Louden Award for Theatre Excellence (Katrina Lenk); and is nominated for seven Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical (Ari'el Stachel), Outstanding Director of a Musical (David Cromer), Outstanding Music (David Yazbek), Outstanding Lyrics (David Yazbek), Outstanding Book of a Musical (Itamar Moses), and Outstanding Orchestrations (Jamshied Sharifi).

The Band's Visit is produced by Orin Wolf, John Styles, and John N. Hart Jr.

Casting will be announced soon.
