Center Theatre Group is poised to present the Tony-winning musical Crazy for You in an exclusive pre-Broadway production at the Ahmanson Theatre next year. Susan Stroman, who won the first of her five Tony Awards for choreographing the original 1992 Broadway production of the musical, will direct and choreograph the new production. This limited engagement will begin performances on February 7 and will run through March 18.

Crazy for You features music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig. The musical first premiered on Broadway in 1992, in a production directed by Mike Ockrent and choreographed by Stroman, and went on to win Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Costume Design of a Musical.

Earlier this year, Susan Stroman directed a one-night-only 25th-anniversary concert version of Crazy for You for Manhattan Concert Productions. The event, which took place February 19 at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall, starred Broadway favorites Laura Osnes (Bandstand) and Tony Yazbeck (Finding Neverland).

No casting for the Los Angeles production has been announced so far.
