Tony-winning producers Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots) and Elizabeth I. McCann (The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?) are hoping to bring Paula Vogel's acclaimed drama Indecent to Broadway this season, according to the New York Times. Collaborating with producer Cody Lassen (Spring Awakening), the transfer will happen if a theater is able to be secured.

Cocreated and directed by Rebecca Taichman, the play with music is inspired by the controversial Broadway debut of Sholem Asch's 1923 play God of Vengeance. Some saw it as a seminal work of Jewish culture, and others as an act of traitorous libel. It played an extended off-Broadway run at Vineyard Theatre earlier this year and was presented in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre.

According to the report, the producers are hoping to present the work with its original off-Broadway company: Katrina Lenk (Once), Mimi Lieber (Act One), Max Gordon Moore (Relatively Speaking), Tom Nelis (The Visit), Steven Rattazzi (The Fourth Sister), Richard Topol (Fish in the Dark), and Adina Verson (Him). Vogel's play features music composed by Lisa Gutkin, with choreography by David Dorfman.
