Nikki M. James to Join Andrew Rannells For Tony Nominations Announcement

The Tony short list will be announced tomorrow morning by two Broadway veterans.

Tony Award winner Nikki M. James (Les Misérables) will join Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon) tomorrow morning at the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel to announce the 2016 Tony Award nominees. James steps in for Tony winner Patina Miller (Pippin), who was previously slated for the announcement ceremony.

The announcements will begin at approximately 8:30 am and will be broadcast live on Tonyawards.com and CBS This Morning. Also in attendance will be William Ivey Long, chairman of the American Theatre Wing; Heather Hitchens, president of the American Theatre Wing; Robert E. Wankel, chairman of the Broadway League; Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League.

James made her Broadway debut in 2001 in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and returned in 2005 to star in All Shook Up. She earned her Tony Award in 2011 for her performance in The Book of Mormon, and was last seen on Broadway as Eponine in the latest revival of Les Misérables.

The 70th Annual Tony Awards will be held June 12 at the Beacon Theatre and will be broadcast live on CBS. Tony winner James Corden, of CBS' The Late Late Show, will host.
