Music Theatre International announced that it is now licensing an updated version of Aladdin Jr. for middle-school students. Aladdin Jr. was originally released in 2005 as one of the first Disney titles to be included in the theatrical licensing agency's Broadway Junior collection of musicals.

This 60-minute adaptation of the original Broadway production is described as marking "a return to the original concepts explored by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman for the 1992 animated movie, which features brassy production numbers with jazz-inspired arrangements including the songs, 'Proud of Your Boy,' 'High Adventure' and 'Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim' and the hits 'A Whole New World' and 'Prince Ali.' "

Aladdin Jr. is available for licensing in the U.S. and Canada starting today through Music Theatre International.
