Matthew Broderick to Join Annaleigh Ashford and Julie White in Broadway's Sylvia

The upcoming Broadway premiere of A.R. Gurney's 1995 classic Sylvia has added another Tony Award winner to its cast roster: two-time recipient Matthew Broderick.
Broderick, most recently seen onstage last season in It's Only a Play, will take on the role of Greg, a middle-aged man who adopts a talking pup named Sylvia, much to the chagrin of his wife, Kate. He joins a cast led by Tony winners Annaleigh Ashford (as Sylvia) and Julie White (as Kate), alongside Drama Desk winner Robert Sella as Tom/Phyllis/Leslie.
Directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan at the Cort Theatre, the production will feature scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Ann Roth, and lighting design by Japhy Weideman.
Sylvia premiered off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club in a production that starred Blythe Danner as Kate, Charles Kimbrough as Greg, and Sarah Jessica Parker, Broderick's real-life wife, in the title role.
Previews will begin October 2, with opening night set for October 27.
