Broadway veteran Mandy Gonzalez is set to join the cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton tonight, replacing Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry in the role of Angelica Schuyler. Goldsberry played her final performance on September 3.

Known for originating the role of Nina Rosario in Miranda's Tony-winning musical In the Heights, Gonzalez has also starred as Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked, among many other credits. Most recently, she has been seen on television shows including Madam Secretary and Quantico.

Directed by Thomas Kail and inspired by Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, Hamilton explores the life of the American founding father and first Secretary of the Treasury, as well as his experiences as an orphan of the British West Indies who immigrated to the 13 Colonies and helped shape the United States of America.

The show, which had its world premiere at the Public Theater, features a book and score by Tony winner Miranda, with music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.
