Our Mother’s Brief Affair, a new play by Tony Award winner Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out), will join Manhattan Theatre Club's 2015-16 Broadway season in its New York premiere. The play will be directed by MTC Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and star Tony and two-time Golden Globe Award winner Linda Lavin (The Lyons).

The limited engagement will begin performances at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre December 28 in advance of a Janurary 20 opening. Greenberg and Meadow reunite at MTC following their Broadway collaboration on The Assembled Parties in 2013. Our Mother's Brief Affair will be Greenberg's 11th MTC project.

Lavin stars as Anna, who, on the verge of death for the umpteenth time, makes a shocking confession to her grown children: an affair from her past that just might have resonance beyond the family. But how much of what she says is true? While her children try to separate fact from fiction, Anna fights for a legacy she can be proud of.

Additional cast and creative team members will be announced in the coming weeks.
