Ramin Karimloo and More Will Pay Tribute to Late Les Misérables Star Kyle Jean-Baptiste

The friends and family of late Les Misérables actor Kyle Jean-Baptiste will gather at Feinstein's/54 Below on October 5 at 11:30pm for a star-studded tribute concert fittingly titled Bring Him Home: Celebrating Kyle Jean-Baptiste.

The concert will feature Jean-Baptiste's favorite songs from his repertoire book, sung by Les Misérables cast members past and present, including Ramin Karimloo, Brennyn Lark, Chris McCarrell, Natalie Charle Ellis, Andrew Kober, and Wallace Smith, as well as Broadway veterans including Libby Servais (Lysistrata Jones), Steel Burkhardt (Aladdin), and more. The entire Baldwin Wallace musical theater class of 2015 will perform as well. Musicians include Jason Aquila, Kristine Kruta, Ben Meadors, and Eli Zoller.

The concert is organized by Corey Mach (Invisible Thread), an alum of Baldwin Wallace University, where Jean-Baptiste attended. Proceeds raised will go to Jean-Baptiste's family.

Jean-Baptiste, who died at the age of 21 on August 28, made history on July 23 when he became the first African-American actor, and the youngest person ever, to play Jean Valjean in a Broadway production of Les Misérables. A native of Brooklyn and a graduate of the Fiorello LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts, Jean-Baptiste starred in numerous productions at Ohio's Baldwin Wallace University. The day after his graduation, he was hired to join the ensemble of Les Misérables and understudy the role of Jean Valjean, joining the production on June 23. Kyle was scheduled to depart Les Misérables on September 6 to join the new Broadway production of The Color Purple.
