Kinky Boots Lines Up New Leads in Jake Shears and Kirstin Maldonado

Kinky Boots has announced its next leads following the planned departures of Stark Sands and Billy Porter who will play their final performance January 7, 2018.

Joining the cast on January 8 will be Scissors Sisters singer Jake Shears making his Broadway debut as Charlie Price for a limited run through April 1. Grammy Award-winning Pentatonix singer Kirstin Maldonado will make her Broadway debut, succeeding Delaney Westfall in the role of Lauren, beginning February 2 through April 8.

Also, J. Harrison Ghee will return to the role of Lola on January 8.

Based on the 2005 film, Kinky Boots follows Charlie, who tries to save his recently deceased father's shoe factory from bankruptcy by manufacturing shoes for drag queens. The musical features a score by Grammy Award-winning pop star Cyndi Lauper and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Jerry Mitchell directs and choreographs.
