Stage and screen icon Kevin Spacey will host the 71st Annual Tony Awards, broadcast live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 11.

"I was their second choice for Usual Suspects, fourth choice for America Beauty, and 15th choice to host this year's Tony Awards. I think my career is definitely going in the right direction," said Spacey. "Maybe I can get shortlisted to host the Oscars if everyone else turns it down."

Spacey is a 1991 Tony winner for his performance in Lost in Yonkers. Additionally, he has been seen on Broadway in A Moon for the Misbegotten, The Iceman Cometh, and Long Day's Journey Into Night, among other shows. He served as the artistic director of London's Old Vic Theatre from 2004-2015. An Oscar winner for American Beauty and The Usual Suspects, his many other screen credits include Pay It Forward, K-PAX, and Netflix's House of Cards.

Tony winner Jane Krakowski and Tony nominee Christopher Jackson will announce the nominees on May 2 at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.
