Tony nominee Jessica Hecht (The Assembled Parties) will take on the role of Golde to Danny Burstein's Tevye in Bartlett Sher's upcoming Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. The production, which will play the Broadway Theatre, is scheduled to begin previews November 12, with opening night set for December 17.

Joining Burstein and Hecht in the classic musical will be Adam Kantor (The Last Five Years) as Motel the tailor. Further casting will be revealed in the coming months.

Produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, and Jam Theatricals, Fiddler on the Roof will feature choreography by Hofesh Shechter, based on the original work of Jerome Robbins. Tony winner Sher's frequent collaborators Michael Yeargan (scenic design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), and Donald Holder (lighting design) will also be part of the production.

Featuring a book by Joseph Stein and a score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, Fiddler on the Roof is inspired by Sholom Alecheim's stories of the milkman Tevye, who tries to hold on to "tradition" as the world around him and his family in the little village of Anatevka changes. This production is the show's sixth since its record-breaking debut in 1964.
