The upcoming revival of Eugene O'Neill's two-character drama Hughie, which will feature Oscar winner Forest Whitaker in his Broadway debut, has postponed its first preview date. The production, which was originally slated to begin performances on February 5 at the Booth Theatre, will now have its first performance on February 8. Opening night is still set for February 25, as originally announced.

Michael Grandage directs the play, set in the lobby of a second-rate Manhattan hotel where small-time hustler Erie Smith (Whitaker) mourns the recent death of the old night clerk, Hughie, and regales the new clerk, Charlie Hughes, with tall tales from his glory days spent with his now-deceased pal. Tony Award winner Frank Wood (The Nether) will join Whitaker in the cast.

For Hughie, Grandage reunites the entire Tony-winning creative team behind the 2010 Broadway production of Red, including Christopher Oram (sets and costumes), Neil Austin (lighting), and Adam Cork (sound design). Darren Bagert, Michael Grandage Company, and the Shubert Organization serve as producers.
