Roundabout Theatre Company has announced full casting for its upcoming revival of Émile Zola's Thérèse Raquin, starring Keira Knightley. Directed by Evan Cabnet and using a new adaptation by Helen Edmundson, the production begins previews October 1 and opens October 29 at Studio 54.

Joining Knightley in the principal cast are two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award winner Judith Light (The Assembled Parties) as Madame Raquin, Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert (Casa Valentina) as Camille, and Matt Ryan (Constantine) as Laurent. Knightley takes on the title role.

Newly announced cast members include David Patrick Kelly (Once), Jeff Still (Fish in the Dark), Mary Wiseman (An Octoroon), Glynis Bell (The Winslow Boy), Alex Mickiewicz (Robin Hood), Sara Topham (The Importance of Being Earnest), and Ray Virta (Hedda Gabler).

Edmundson's new adaptation of Thérèse Raquin was commissioned by Roundabout Theatre Company. In the drama, Thérèse has made peace with her loveless marriage to a weak man when her world is turned upside down by the entrance of Laurent. Unable to ignore their passion, the pair sets off on a violent path that may have far worse consequences for the perpetrators than for the victims.

Knightley is an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Olivier nominee with notable roles including Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean films and Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. She made her West End debut in Martin Crimp's translation of Molière's The Misanthrope and in 2011 returned to the London stage in Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour, staged by Ian Rickson.

The creative team will include Beowulf Boritt (set design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Keith Parham (lighting design), and Josh Schmidt (sound design).
