It's official: The highly anticipated stage musical version of the hit Disney film Frozen has set its Broadway timeline.

The musical, which will be directed by Alex Timbers (The Robber Bridegroom) is expected to open in spring 2018 following an out-of-town tryout during summer 2017.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q), who received Oscars for their Frozen tune "Let It Go," will pen the show's full score, with the film's screenwriter and codirector Jennifer Lee penning the book. Peter Darling (Matilda The Musical) will serve as choreographer.

The creative team will be made up of Disney stage veterans Bob Crowley (set and costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), and Peter Hylenski (sound design). Stephen Oremus will serve as musical director.

Frozen, which tells the story of a princess who sets off to find her estranged sister, won 2014 Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. It grossed over $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue. The cast of the film is led by Tony Award winner Idina Menzel as Elsa and Kristen Bell as Anna, alongside Santino Fontana, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad.

Complete timeline, casting, and theater information have not been officially announced. Frozen is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, under the direction of Thomas Schumacher.
