Flashback Friday: Camryn Manheim Wins Spring Awakening Karma Points at 1998 Emmys

Camryn Manheim may be making her Broadway debut in this season's revival of Spring Awakening, but she's been building her Broadway connections since at least 1998. As Manheim stands up to accept her Emmy Award for The Practice in the video below, you can see her date for the evening was none other than her longtime friend, director Michael Mayer, who, nine years later, would win a Tony Award for his work on the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening. Mayer may not be directing the upcoming revival, but it goes to show, it never hurts to have some good Broadway karma.
