Ansel Elgort and Darren Criss Find Matthew Morrison and Neverland on Opening Night

The new musical by Gary Barlow, Elliot Kennedy, and James Graham also stars Kelsey Grammer and Laura Michelle Kelly.

Finding Neverland, the new musical adaptation of the 2004 Harvey Weinstein film, celebrated its opening night on April 15 the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Tony Award winner Diane Paulus directs the production, which made its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Featuring a score by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy and a book by James Graham, Finding Neverland explores the friendship of playwright J.M. Barrie and Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, a widowed mother whose four boys inspired the beloved Peter Pan stories. Leading the company are Matthew Morrison as J.M. Barrie, Kelsey Grammer as Charles Frohman, Laura Michelle Kelly as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, Carolee Carmello as Mrs. Du Maurier, and Teal Wicks as Mary Barrie.

Following the performance, the cast and their guests — including Oscar winners Christoph Waltz and Helen Mirren, Emmy and Tony winner Brian Cranston, Grammy winner Gloria Estefan, Darren Criss, Ansel Elgort, and more — headed uptown to the Metropolitan Club for the swanky after-party, sponsored by Brooks Brothers, Chase, iHeartMedia, and USA Today.
