Disney Theatrical Productions and Fathom Events will be presenting a filmed performance of the Broadway musical Newsies for three engagements beginning today, February 16. Screenings will also take place February 18 and 22.

The film features original stars Kara Lindsay (Katherine), Ben Fankhauser (Davey), Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Crutchie), and original leading man Jeremy Jordan, reprising his Tony Award-nominated performance as Jack Kelly.

Inspired by the 1992 film of the same name, Newsies tells the story of a group of tenacious newsboys at the turn of the last century who band together to form a union and lead a strike after selling prices are raised. The musical won Tony Awards for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre and Best Choreography. It features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein. At the time of Newsies' Broadway closing, it had played 1,005 performances at the Nederlander Theatre.
