The upcoming Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof has moved up the date of its first performance at the Broadway Theatre from November 17 to November 12. The show's official press opening, however, will remain December 17.

Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher (The King and I), the Tony Award-winning musical returns to Broadway for its sixth production since its record-breaking debut in 1964. Five-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein (Cabaret) will star as Tevye, Sholom Alecheim's famous milkman who tries to hold on to "tradition" as the world around him and his family in the little village of Anatevka changes. The show features a book by Joseph Stein and a score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick.

Produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, and Jam Theatricals, Fiddler on the Roof will feature choreography by Hofesh Shechter, based on the original work of Jerome Robbins. Sher's Tony-nominated King and I design team joins the production as well, with scenic design by Michael Yeargan, costume design by Catherine Zuber, and lighting design by Donald Holder.

Tickets for the production go on sale June 6.
