The annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Easter Bonnet Competition will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year with performances on Monday, April 25, and Tuesday, April 26. The shows will take place at the Minskoff Theatre, home to The Lion King.

The Easter Bonnet Competition is the annual theater community celebration that ends six weeks of intensive fundraising efforts by dozens of Broadway, off‐Broadway, and national touring productions.

In addition to singing, dancing and comedic skits, participating shows present creative and elaborate Easter bonnets created especially for the event. The companies that raise the most for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS are recognized with special Easter Bonnet Competition honors. Awards also are presented for best bonnet design and best presentation during the performances.

The fundraising efforts begin today, Friday, March 11, at select shows where cast, crews, and other volunteers will accept audience members donations following performances. Many shows also will offer autographed memorabilia and exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences in exchange for a donation. Collection continues through April 24.

Hosts and celebrity participants will be announced at a later date.
