Atlantic Records and Dear Evan Hansen producer Stacey Mindich announced today that the original broadway cast recording of the new musical Dear Evan Hansen will be released on Atlantic Records this winter.

The album, which will be recorded next month, will be released digitally on February 3, 2017, with physical CDs available on February 24. The cast recording will be available for preorder beginning December 2, and those who purchase at that time will receive an instant free download of the song "Waving Through a Window."

Following runs at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage and off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre, Dear Evan Hansen began performances at Broadway's Music Box Theatre on November 14 in advance of a December 4 opening. Ben Platt, who stars in the title role, is joined in the cast by Laura Dreyfuss, Mike Faist, Rachel Bay Jones, Will Roland, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Kristolyn Lloyd, and Michael Park.

With a score by Tony nominees Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story) and a book by Levenson (Masters of Sex), Dear Evan Hansen is described as follows: "All his life Evan Hansen has felt invisible. To his peers, to the girl he loves, sometimes even to his own mother. But that was before he wrote the letter — that led to the incident — that started the lie — that ignited a movement — that inspired a community — and changed Evan's status from the ultimate outsider into the somebody everyone wants to know. But how long can Evan keep his secret? And at what price?"

Three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif directs, with choreography by Danny Mefford.
