Recent Marymount Manhattan College graduate Danielle Behrens and NYU Tisch School of the Arts pupil Joshua Israel have been named the winner of the Dames at Sea tap-dancing challenge, winning the opportunity to perform with the cast during the curtain call of the show's Gypsy Run. The contest, judged by assistant director and choreographer Emily Morgan and dance captain Kevin Worley, took place on August 31 when the Helen Hayes Theater box office officially opened.

Dames at Sea follows Ruby, fresh off the bus in Manhattan, as she gets her first New York musical role — only to find out, along with the rest of the cast, that the theater is about to be demolished on opening night. Featuring music by Jim Wise and a book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, the musical is a parody of the 1930s Busby Berkeley-style movie musicals.

Leading the cast are be John Bolton (A Christmas Story) as the Captain/Hennesey, Mara Davi (A Chorus Line) as Joan, Danny Gardner (Lady, Be Good!) as Lucky, Eloise Kropp (On the Town) as Ruby, Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda The Musical) as Mona Kent, and Cary Tedder (Honeymoon in Vegas) as Dick. Three-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner (42nd Street) directs and choreographs the show's first-ever revival.

Dames at Sea will begin performances at the Helen Hayes Theatre on September 24 in advance of an October 22 opening.
