Bill Murray Returns to Groundhog Day for a Second Night in a Row
The New York Times reported that the star of the original 1993 film, on which the ongoing Broadway musical is based, went to see the show a second evening in a row last night after surprising the cast and crew by coming to see it on Tuesday, August 8. This time, though, he came by himself, and, according to a spokesman for the musical, the show was given advance warning that he might make a return visit.

Groundhog Day features a score by Matilda composer Tim Minchin and direction by Matilda's Matthew Warchus, with original screenwriter Danny Rubin providing the book. The story follows disgruntled weatherman Phil Connors who finds himself stuck in small-town America reliving the same day over and over and over again.
