Bandstand To Be Licensed By Samuel French

Richard Oberacker and Rob Taylor's Broadway musical Bandstand has partnered with Work Light Productions, the Road Company, and Samuel French for the future touring and performance rights.
Samuel French, one of the world's preeminent theatrical publishing and licensing companies, will represent the show's performance rights. A national tour, presented by Work Light Productions and the Road Company, will take place in future seasons.
Andy Blankenbuehler directs and choreographs the production on Broadway, which is about a group of soldiers who have just returned home from the front lines of World War II. When this motley assortment of men is given an important opportunity, one that involves music, they find themselves opening up in ways that make them feel whole again. Blankenbuehler recently took home a 2017 Tony Award for his Bandstand choreography.
The Broadway cast features Corey Cott, Laura Osnes Beth Leavel, Joey Pero, Joe Carroll, Brandon James Ellis, James Nathan Hopkins, and Geoff Packard. The creative team includes Paloma Young (costumes), Nevin Steinberg (sound), David Korins (set), and Jeff Croiter (lighting). The musical ran at the Paper Mill Playhouse before transferring to Broadway in March 2017. The Broadway run ends September 17.
