Nathan Lane, Andrew Garfield to Bring Angels in America to Broadway

Tony Kushner’s drama will return to the Great White Way.

The acclaimed National Theatre revival of Tony Kushner's Angels in America, directed by Marianne Elliott, will make its Broadway debut this spring at the Neil Simon Theatre. Performances will begin February 23, with opening night set for March 21.

Elliott's Broadway mounting of the two-part drama will star original London cast members Nathan Lane as Roy Cohn, Andrew Garfield as Prior Walter, Denise Gough as Harper Pitt, James McArdale as Louis Ironson, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett as Belize, Susan Brown as Hannah Pitt, and Amanda Lawrence as the Angel. Russell Tovey, who played Joe Pitt, will not take part in the New York production due to scheduling conflicts.

The design team includes Ian MacNeil (scenic design), Nicky Gillibrand (costume design), Paule Constable (lighting design), Adrian Sutton (music), Ian Dickinson (sound design), Nick Barnes and Finn Caldwell (puppetry designers), Finn Caldwell (puppetry director and movement), Robby Graham (movement), and Chris Fisher (illusions).
