Broadway's An American in Paris will end its run earlier than expected, now closing on October 9 rather than the previously announced January 1. The production began previews Mar 13, 2015, and opened April 12, 2015, at the Palace Theatre. It will have played 623 regular performances and 29 previews.

Winner of four 2015 Tony Awards, An American in Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Oscar-winning film, the musical features a book by Craig Lucas and a score of George and Ira Gershwin's iconic tunes including "I Got Rhythm," " 'S Wonderful," and "They Can't Take That Away From Me." The story follows a young American soldier and a beautiful French girl in "a timeless story of love in a city rebuilding from the heartbreak of World War II."

As previously announced, An American in Paris is set for both a national tour and London production. The tour, which will kick off in Boston in October, will star Garen Scribner and Sara Esty, both veterans of the Broadway production.

The West End production will open at the Dominion Theatre in March 2017. The Broadway production's original stars Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope will reprise their Tony-nominated performances as Jerry Mulligan and Lise Dassin.
