Amazing Grace Broadway Cast Album Announces Release Date

DMI Soundtracks has announced that the previously announced Broadway cast album of Amazing Grace will be released on February 26, with digital download pre-orders available on February 12. The recording is coproduced and engineered by six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti and coproduced and arranged by Joseph Church.
Directed by Gabriel Barre and written by Christopher Smith and Arthur Giron, Amazing Grace played a 2014 out-of-town tryout at Chicago's PrivateBank Theatre before opening at New York's Nederlander Theatre on July 16, where it ran for 114 performances and 24 previews. The show is based on the true story behind the world's most beloved song — a story of romance, rebellion, and redemption, that follows one man whose journey ignited a historic wave of change that gave birth to the abolitionist movement.
The cast featured Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar), Erin Mackey (Chaplin), Tony Award winner Chuck Cooper (Cabin in the Sky), Tom Hewitt (Doctor Zhivago), Chris Hoch (Matilda The Musical), Stanley Bahorek (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Harriett D. Foy (Mamma Mia!), Laiona Michelle (The Book of Mormon national tour), Elizabeth Ward Land (Scandalous), and Rachael Ferrera, all of whom starred in the Chicago production.
