Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, John Bolton, and Caroline O'Connor will headline the Broadway run of the new musical Anastasia, which will open at the Broadhurst Theatre on April 24, 2017, producers have announced. The quartet starred in the record-breaking Hartford Stage run of the musical, which took place earlier this year.

Altomare, Klena, Bolton, and O'Connor will reprise their performances as Anya, Dmitry, Vlad Popov, and Countess Lily Malevsky-Malevitch, respectively. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Directed by Tony winner Darko Tresnjak (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), the production reunites the Tony-winning team behind the Broadway musical Ragtime: book writer Terrence McNally and songwriters Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Ahrens and Flaherty penned the tunes for the 1997 animated film on which the stage musical is based. They have expanded their score, which contains songs including "Once Upon a December" and "Journey to the Past," for the theatrical production. Altomare and Klena previously starred together in MCC Theater's 2012 revival of the musical Carrie.

The creative team also includes Peggy Hickey (choreography), Alexander Dodge (set design), Linda Cho (costume design), Donald Holder (lighting design), Peter Hylenski (sound design), Aaron Rhyne (projection design), Charles LaPointe (hair/wig design), Thomas Murray (music supervision and direction), and Doug Besterman (orchestrations),
