CUNY TV Celebrates "Women in Theatre" Starting April 4

CUNY TV, in alliance with the League of Professional Theatre Women, will present a new, 13-part series titled “Women in Theatre: Dialogues with Notable Women in American Theatre,” beginning on Friday, April 4.

Hosted by Newsday theater critic and arts columnist Linda Winer, the series will feature half-hour interviews with designers, directors, performers, playwrights, and producers. After it airs, it will become part of the Theatre on Film and Tape archive at Lincoln Center.

The broadcast schedule of interviews is as follows: actress Rosemary Harris (Waiting in the Wings, A Delicate Balance), April 4; Lynne Meadow, artistic director of the Manhattan Theatre Club, April 11; playwright and actress Dael Orlandersmith (Yellowman), April 18; actress Cherry Jones (Imaginary Friends, Major Barbara), April 25; producer Elizabeth McCann (The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?), May 2; playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), May 9; Molly Smith, artistic director of Washington, D.C.’s Arena Stage, May 16; Virginia Louloudes of Alliance of Resident Theatres/NY, May 23; set designer Heidi Ettinger (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer), May 30; playwright Diana Son (Stop Kiss), June 6; producer Daryl Roth (Medea), June 13; costume designer Willa Kim (Victor/Victoria), June 20; and playwright Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog), June 27.
