Liza Minnelli has extended her run at Broadway's Palace Theater for the second time, and will now close January 4 following the 3pm matinee.

The performer was forced to cancel last night's performance (December 10) on doctor's orders, but is expected to return for the next scheduled performance, which will take place this Friday, December 12.

The evening, which features many of the entertainer's best known hits as well as a tribute to her godmother, Kay Thompson, is directed and choreographed by Ron Lewis, and written by Tony Award winner David Zippel.

She is joined by pianist Billy Stritch, conductor/drummer Michael Berkowitz, and performers Cortes Alexander, Jim Caruso, Tiger Martina, and Johnny Rodgers. The show will feature sets by Ray Klausen, costumes by Halston, lighting by Matthew Berman, and sound by Matt Krauss.

Minnelli won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for Flora the Red Menace and The Act, and won a special Tony Award in 1974. She was also nominated for The Rink and has starred on Broadway in Victor/Victoria and Chicago. She won the Academy Award for Cabaret and the Emmy Award for Liza With a "Z".
