Irving Berlin's White Christmas to Return to Broadway's Marquis Theatre

By Brian Scott Lipton • Aug 24, 2009 • New York City

Irving Berlin's White Christmas will return to Broadway's Marquis Theatre for a 61-performance run, November 13-January 3. The show is directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, with choreography by Randy Skinner, and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Casting will be announced shortly.

The plot revolves around two show business buddies, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who put on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn and find their perfect mates in the bargain -- sister act Betty and Judy Haynes. The score includes such Berlin classics as "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Sisters," "How Deep is the Ocean," and the title song.

The creative team includes Anna Louizos (sets), Carrie Robbins (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting), Acme Sound Partners (sound), Larry Blank (orchestrations), and Rob Berman (musical supervision).

The show will also tour the country over the holiday season, with productions in Omaha, Cincinatti, Philadelphia, East Lansing, St. Louis, Louisville, and Kansas City.
