Flower Drum Singers! Full Broadway Cast For Revisal Announced

Lea Salonga
Flower Drum Song, a Rodgers & Hammerstein creation extensively rewritten by David Henry Hwang, debuted last year at the Mark Taper Forum, where it garnered solid audiences and critical respect, so much so that plans for a Broadway transfer were quickly firmed up. The show will play at the Virginia Theatre, directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom.
The original Broadway production of Flower Drum Song opened on December 1, 1958 at the St. James Theater. Principal roles were played by Miyoshi Umeki, Pat Suzuki, Ed Kenney, Keye Luke, Juanita Hall, Patrick Adiarte, Arabella Hong, and Larry Blyden. Umeki, Hall, and Adiarte repeated their roles in the 1961 film version.
