Opening Up

The Broadway bows of LoveMusik and Coram Boy attract such stars as Victoria Clark, Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kate Mulgrew, and Daphne Rubin-Vega.











The Broadway season is heading into the home stretch, with two openings this week. On Thursday, LoveMusik bowed at the Biltmore. Here are Tony Award winners Donna Murphy and Michael Cerveris, who are earning raves for their portrayals of singer Lotte Lenya and her husband, composer Kurt Weill.


















Here's the show's director, Harold Prince, who has won more Tonys than anyone else in history and who could add another trophy to his mantle this year.




















The starry crowd of first-nighters included this talented trio: Tony winner Sutton Foster; her brother, Hunter Foster; and Hunter's wife, Jen Cody.


















Among the other luminaries on hand were playwright Charles Busch and two of his leading ladies...




















...Kate Mulgrew, who recently concluded a run as actress Laura Keene in Busch's Our Leading Lady...






















...and Tale of the Allergist's Wife star Linda Lavin, who's performing at the Metropolitan Room this weekend.





















And here's Adriane Lenox, a Tony winner for her performance in Doubt, looking gorgeous after spending the winter in sunny California.




















On Wednesday night, the British megahit Coram Boy opened at the Imperial Theatre with an all-American cast including Uzo Aduba and Drama Desk nominee Xanthe Elbrick, who actually play young boys in the show.




















Also featured in the show's 40-person cast are Bill Camp, Brad Fleischer, and Ivy Vahanian.


















The opening brought out a bevy of award-winning stars, including F. Murray Abraham, a Drama League nominee this year for his work in The Merchant of Venice and The Jew of Malta...




















...the fabulous Victoria Clark, a Tony winner for The Light in the Piazza...




















...Clark's Piazza co-star Kelli O'Hara, who returns next month to her home state of Oklahoma to star in Oklahoma!...





















...the dynamic Daphne Rubin-Vega, who starred earlier this season in both Les Misérables and Jack Goes Boating...






















...Tony winner Cady Huffman, who just finished a run in All About Us at the Westport Country Playhouse...





















...and one of Broadway's most popular couples, Brian Stokes Mitchell -- who will once again tackle South Pacific this summer at the Hollywood Bowl -- and his lovely wife, actress Alyson Tucker.
