The Broadway musical The Addams Family, currently performing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, will begin a national tour in September 2011. The first stop will be the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in New Orleans, LA. The complete tour schedule will be announced at a later date.

Based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, the musical has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The production is directed and designed (sets and costumes) by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, with creative consultation by Jerry Zaks and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.

Lighting design is by Natasha Katz, sound design by Acme Sound Partners, and puppetry by Basil Twist. No casting for the tour has been announced.
